Young ladies group of the year: Louisa-Muscatine bowling

Interestingly since the Quad-City Times beginning perceiving a group of the year in 2012, a bowling crew has caught the honor.

Louisa-Muscatine, which won an exceptional fifth successive Iowa Class 1A state title this previous winter, is the Salute to Sports young ladies group of the year for 2021.

Instructed by Al Jordan, the Falcons got done with a 3,097 absolute in the occasion held in late February at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo. L-M beat down Camanche for the best position by 73 pins.

Junior Lily Fischer drove the Falcons in the two-game individual arrangement with a 428. First year recruit Hannah Andersen had a 425 arrangement and senior Madisyn Gerdts recorded a 403, all completing in the main 10 of the individual rivalry.

“That is the thing that you call an all out collaboration there,” Jordan said in February.

No other program in state history has won in excess of three state titles.

The Falcons will endeavor to make it a six-peat the following winter. They return four of their best six bowlers, driven by Fischer and Jersey Lessenger.
