Three O.C. players named CIF Southern Section baseball players of the year

Trent Caraway of JSerra, Damon Anderson Wolf of Aliso Niguel and Cohen Gomez of Canyon were named CIF Southern Section players of the year.

Caraway received the honor in Division 1, while Anderson Wolf earned the top award in Division 3 and Gomez in Division 4.

Caraway, an infielder, helped JSerra win the CIF-SS Division 1 championship. He was named the Gatorade state player of the year last week.

Anderson Wolf was the top pitcher on Aliso Niguel’s Division 3 championship team.

Gomez was the star pitcher for Canyon’s Division 4 championship team.

The CIF-SS coaches of the year included Brett Kay of JSerra (Division 1), Craig Hanson of Aliso Niguel (Division 3) and Jason Smith of Canyon (Division 4).

The All-CIF Southern Section teams were released Wednesday (June 7).

The Orange County All-CIF selections by division:
