The rescue team of Bangladesh is going to Turkey

A rescue team of 10 members of Bangladesh is going to the rescue work in the earthquake in Turkey. It will have five members each of Bangladesh Army and Fire Service.

An official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who did not want to be named, gave this information to Prothom Alo on Tuesday afternoon. He also said that the team will go to Turkey on Wednesday in an aircraft (C-130) of the Bangladesh Air Force. Initially it was decided to send a team of 10 people. Work is on to decide who will be in this team, what equipment, materials and medical supplies will be sent.

A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.8 hit the southeastern part of Turkey on Monday. The epicenter of the earthquake was near the Turkish city of Gaziantep on the border with Syria. The origin of this earthquake was at a depth of 17.7 kilometers below the surface. The earthquake caused a humanitarian disaster in Turkey and Syria. The death toll in the two countries has reached 4,800. However, the number is expected to increase.

This is the strongest earthquake in Turkey this century. Earlier in 1999 such an earthquake occurred in the country. In 1999, more than 17,000 people lost their lives in that earthquake in Turkey’s Izmit and Marmara coastal areas east of Istanbul.
Immediately after the earthquake yesterday, various countries and organizations announced cooperation in Turkey and Syria. President of Bangladesh. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have sent condolence messages to Turkish President Erdogan.

Sources say that a proposal was made by Bangladesh to send a rescue team to Turkey. Turkey quickly expressed their interest in the matter.

The official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that in the previous earthquake, Turkey was offered to send a rescue team. Then they thanked Bangladesh and said that there is no need to send a rescue team. This time they showed interest only after receiving the offer.
