Saint Pat’s High School holds annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament

For alumni of Saint Pat’s High School the first week of July means the alumni reunion weekend. The reunion weekend is always kicked off with the Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament at River’s Edge Golf Club. River’s Edge has played host to the event for several years now and participants are always eager to get out on the links. The action got started early this morning with a shotgun start.

The proceeds from the tournament go to support the Saint Pat’s High School Activities Association. The Activities Association helps to support all of the extracurricular organizations at Saint Pat’s High. This year the tournament saw a record breaking turnout.

Wendy Dodson, the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment Director said, “The community of North Platte really stepped up and showed great support for this tournament which helps our bottom line, we’re gonna have a record number of proceeds this year which is a really important boost for our activities association.”

There were also former Saint Pat’s golfers playing in the event on Friday. 2020 graduate Andrew Lindemeier said it was great to see so many people come out and show their support for all that Saint Pat’s has going on.

It’s pretty awesome to see the community that actually cares about every sport even if it’s golf, cross country any of those sports that don’t really have fans that get to sit out in bleachers or anything like that so it’s pretty cool to see,” said Lindemeier.
