Pequot Lakes Community Ed news: July 20, 2021

Pickleball is a blend of badminton, tennis and ping pong. All ages and levels will partake in this open play opportunity.

Experienced players will show all keeping track of who’s winning, serving, hitting forehands, strikes, dinking, campaigning and court techniques. Members are urged to wear agreeable garments and athletic shoes, and bring a container of water.

Register on the web or via telephone before joining in. No installment is expected at the hour of enlistment. You will be charged upon registration every day. The expense is $3 per time.

Open play is accessible Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until Aug. 30 from 9-11 a.m. Enter Door 4 of the High School and check in at the Community Education office.

Enlistment for fall youth sports open

Enlistment of the entire fall youth sports for grades 1-6 is presently open.

Crosscountry for third-through fifth-graders is $49. Enlistment closes on Aug. 18. Practices will be one to two evenings each week, likely beginning mid-August and finishing mid September. Practice times will probably be 5:45 – 6:45 p.m.

Tennis Skills for 3rd through 5th grade young ladies and young men is $42 Registration closes on Aug. 13. The program will likely beginning in mid-August and end in mid-September. Practice times will likely be 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday nights.

Football Skills for 1st and 2nd grade young men is $28, and enrollment closes Sept. 10. Members will likely meet on Monday or Tuesday nights for roughly one hour starting in mid-September on the Pequot Lakes High School football field. Rough practice times are 5:45 – 6:45 p.m.

Banner Football for 3rd and 4th grade young men is $55 and enrollment closes Aug. 30. The objective is to have one night out of every week alongside Saturday morning. Varsity football trainers and players will help with rehearses. Scrimmages will supplant practice on Saturday morning.

Contact Football for 5th and 6th grade young men is $70 and enrollment closes on Aug. 18. Football grade will likely beginning the finish of August and end before Fall Break. The objective is to have one to two practices each week. Varsity football trainers and players will help with rehearses. A scrimmage night may supplant a training or perhaps on a Saturday morning. The estimated time span is 5:45 – 6:45 p.m.

Volleyball Skills for 1st and 2nd grade young ladies is $28 and enrollment closes on Sept. 24. The program will likely beginning the seven day stretch of Sept. 25. Practices will be on Saturday mornings for 60 minutes.

Volleyball for 3rd and 4th grade young ladies is $42 and enlistment closes on Sept. 15. The program will probably begin the seven day stretch of Sept. 20 and will zero in on abilities and basics. Practices will be one night out of every week (regularly Mondays or Tuesdays) and will end before Fall Break.
