Meadville: The North dominated all aspects of the 2023 version of the District X All-Star Showcase and cruised to a 36-0 win.
The game was a far cry from last season when North and South exploded for 101 points and touchdowns – in the eventual 61-40 victory for the North.
Defense ruled the way for the North squad, limiting their opposition from the South to only 74 yards of offense.
Midway through the first quarter, the North opened the scoring with General McLane’s Kyle Birkmire hauling in a 28-yard touchdown pass from McDowell’s Ben Moore.

Despite losing a fumble at the South 10-yard line early in the second quarter, the North squad still managed to take a 17-0 lead into the locker room when McDowell’s Artis Simmons hammered home a 6-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-goal following a turnover on downs at the South 27-yard line.
Northwestern’s Ben Campbell hit a 29-yard field goal with 1:49 to play in the half.
Artis Simmons rushed for a game-high 95 yards on 11 carries.
Meadville’s Khalon Simmons-McCoy ripped off a 43-yard touchdown run on the opening play of the second half for North, pushing their lead to 23-0.
