Iowa High School Baseball All-Star Teams Announced

There was no Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Series this summer, but teams were selected to honor outstanding seniors. Plans are for the All-Star Series to resume next summer.

Named to the Small Schools West team was Remsen St. Mary’s pitcher Blaine Harpenau, MOC-Floyd Valley pitcher Colton Korver, Hinton infielder Tate Linton, Unity Christian outfielder Tanner Schouten, and Remsen St. Mary’s Head Coach Dean Harpenau.

Blaine Harpenau helped Remsen St. Mary’s to a State semifinal appearance on the mound by going a perfect 13-0, and holding batters to an average to .102 and only giving up 6 earned runs.

Colton Korver went 7-2 on the mound for MOC-Floyd Valley in 11 appearances and helped MOC-Floyd Valley get to the State Tournament. Korver struck out 73 batters against 15 walks and had an ERA of 2.48.

Hinton’s Tate Linton started 24 games for the Blackhawks, and had a batting average of .457 along with 31 RBI’s.

Unity Christian’s Tanner Schouten started 29 games for the Knights and was a key piece in getting his team to the State Tournament. Schouten hit .400 on the season with 6 doubles, 7 triples, and 3 homeruns. He batted in 28 runs, and scored 38 himself.
