All Indians all the time was the vibe , as Kurt Condos’ bunch ran rampant over Newport 36-0.

The Indians opened up the scoring tab at the 8 minute mark of quarter number 1 as Seth Laub took a slant to the house making it six to nothing Juniata. The Indians would get back on the scoreboard just 56 seconds later, as they forced a safety on a Newport punt. (9-0 Juniata). A Newport punt, and a demonstration of the hard charging Juniata rushing attack on the ensuing drive. Was capped off when senior tailback Caleb Smith was able to evade a whole gang of Buffalo and hit paydirt from 4 yards out. (16-0 following PAT 1:58 1st.) A Newport 3 and out put the Indians in scoring once again. That’s when senior QB Aaron Kanagy dropped back, and put it in the bread basket of a Wide open jasper shepps for a 33 yard score as we hit the end of the first Juniata 23 Newport 0. The respective defenses then took over , until the clock showed two minutes. That was when Aaron Kanagy rolled a strike handing the rock to his senior bowling ball Waylon Ehrenzeller who crashed through three Newport tacklers on his way to a 15 yard TD. (PAT good 30-0 Juniata)

Then it was on to the second half, when the only points surrendered by the buffs were the 6 Waylon Ehrenzeller would tally from 3 yards out (8:22 3rd ). Sending the game into the mercy rule. That would conclude the scoring in the evening but Todd Rothermel and the Buffalos should take a few things away from this game. They had two interceptions off one of the better QBs in the Midd Penn, that being Aaron kanagy. They were also able to force some timely punts in the second half.

But life goes on, and both teams get to collect themselves and reload for next week. Juniata makes the trip to the eastern bank of the Susquehanna for the Wildcats of Halifax High School. Newport finds themselves on their home turf for a tilt with Kent Smeltz and the Trojans of Upper Dauphin
