One of the best St. Louis high school basketball players in recent memory has died after being shot on Friday night.
Cameron Biedscheid was shot and killed in unincorporated north St. Louis County, Missouri, on the same block where he lived.
Biedscheid starred at Cardinal Ritter in St. Louis where he averaged 31.7 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game as a high school senior in 2011-12.
Beidscheid then enrolled at Notre Dame where he averaged 6.2 points in 34 games as a freshman on a team that lost to Iowa State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
After redshirting to start his sophomore year, Beidscheid transferred to Missouri but was dismissed by Tigers coach Kim Anderson before the 2014-15 season.
Beidscheid went on to play briefly at Jacksonville State, Louisiana State University-Shreveport, and Harris-Stowe.
Police have not indicated having any suspects in the killing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Cameron Biedscheid’s loved ones during this time.
