East Wake hires Bret Dixon as boys and girls soccer coach

East Wake High School has hired Bret Dixon as it’ next head boys and girls soccer coach.

Dixon is a member of East Wake’s Class of 2008.

Dixon most recently served as the head soccer coach at East Wake Academy from 2019-2021 before taking the position at East Wake High.

Dixon has also worked as a head coach for the United Soccer Club in Wendell since 2015.

“We are excited for Coach Dixon to join our coaching staff,” principal Stacey Alston said. “Being from the area and working with our feeder youth soccer programs, Coach Dixon understands where our players and program is at. This will allow him to move our program to the next level. Additionally, it is always a pleasure to have an alum to lead a program… This makes the opportunity even more special.”

East Wake’s boys’ team is coming off a 2-8-1 season while the girls’ team went 2-9 in the 2021 season.
