Harrisburg: Jeff Hoenstine was stopped at the goal line on the game’s final play as the East held on for a 41-34 victory.
The West Squad took over at their 25-yard line with 1:42 to play and drove 74 yards in 13 thirteen plays but failed to get the remaining yard as time expired.
Central’s record-setting quarterback Jeff Hoenstine converted a fourth-and-two from his 32-yard line before connecting with Richland’s Grayden Lewis to the East 15-yard line with under a minute to play and no timeouts.
On third-and-goal, Hoenstine scrambled to the 1-yard line setting the stage for the game’s final snap with eight seconds to play.
On the ensuing play, Hoenstine took the snap under center for a quarterback sneak and surged forward but couldn’t cross the goal line.
