The Coastal Carolina coaching staff has been making waves in the state of PA lately, and this year the wave landed squarely in coal country.  Berwick linebacker Spencer Kishbaugh and Mt. Carmel DE Matthew Scicchitano have become the latest PA products to head to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleer Football program. They’ll join fellow PA products Isaiah Jones, Manheim Twp. Frankie Richardson, Gettysburg and Nick Del Grande of Lampeter-Strasburg.

“It’s just a great place. The energy in the workouts is crazy. I love the coaching staff, the facilities are awesome” said Spencer Kishbaugh of the reason he chose Coastal over a school he was recently committed to, Kent St. “And it’s pretty cool playing right by the beach. The teal field is cool.”  Spencer knows Scicchatano and works out at the same facility, Vaportrail247, in Bloomsburg. “It’s pretty cool, we’re friends and know each other through Vaportrail and football so that’ll be something to build on. We’re the only two in PA that got selected for Coastal so that’s neat too. Kishbaugh is a tough, hard nosed defender that helped Berwick to a successful year.

Scicchitano has been commited for quite some time to Coastal. The now former Red Tornado DE was a terror on the line for MCA. “Its a great choice, they are really progressing as a program. He (Schcchitano) fits well into their scheme” said MCA head coach John Darrah. “That’s a good situation, I’m sure he and Spencer will become good friends. They”ll be able to share war stories of football in the coal region.”

Braeden Wisloski is fresh off a state championship and heading to play for the Maryland Terps. He visited the Terps back on june 28 and committed two days later. The Terps are getting a big, strong back that is ready for the FBS grind.  Wisloski logged nearly 2,000 yards on the ground this year with 25 scores.

The final early signer from the coal region is Danville running back Ty Brown-Stauffer. Stauffer will play for the Black Nights at West Point Academy. The bruising back ran for over 1,100 yards this year with 19 trips to the endzone. For his career, Stauffer has compiled over 3,000 yards and 41 tds on the ground. “I could talk about all history, the Academy, the program, but I’m more interested in the character they’re going to give me, the man they’re going to turn me in to. My great grandfather was military and won the Purple heart in WWII, both my grandfathers military and 2 of my uncles” said Ty of his choice.
